The majority of our trips take place under special use permit on the Pisgah District of the Pisgah National Forest and its Congressionally mandated Wilderness Areas.
All groups must provide their own transportation to the trail head where treks begin. The usual trail head is the Black Balsam parking area, just one mile off the Blue Ridge Parkway about 25 miles southwest of Asheville, NC. The trailhead is a large paved parking area. The group will return to this location around mid-day on the last day of the trip.
